Capzul Technologies Private Limited
Effective date: August 25, 2026·Last updated: September 25, 2026
1. Overview
This Prescription Policy explains how Capzul Technologies Private Limited and our licensed Partner Pharmacies handle prescription medicines ordered through capzul.in and the Capzul app. It applies to all prescription-required medicines under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, including Schedule H, H1, and X drugs.
2. What requires a prescription
You must upload a valid prescription before checkout when ordering:
- Schedule H and H1 medicines
- Schedule X and other restricted medicines
- Any medicine marked “Prescription required” on the Platform
- Refills where the original prescription has expired or is incomplete
3. Accepted prescription formats
- Clear photo or scan of a physical prescription (JPEG, PNG, or PDF)
- Digital prescription from a registered medical practitioner, where permitted by law
- Multi-page prescriptions uploaded as separate images or a single PDF
Prescriptions must show the doctor’s name, registration number, patient name, date, medicine name/strength, dosage, and duration where applicable.
4. Prescription validity
- Acute prescriptions are generally valid for the period stated by the prescriber or up to 6 months from the date of issue, whichever is earlier, unless a shorter validity applies under law.
- Chronic-care refills may require a fresh prescription when the prior prescription expires or the prescribed quantity has been dispensed.
- Capzul or the Partner Pharmacy may request an updated prescription before dispatch.
5. Verification and rejection
All uploaded prescriptions are reviewed by qualified personnel at the Partner Pharmacy before dispensing. We may contact you or your prescriber for clarification. We may reject an order when:
- Blurred, incomplete, forged, or altered prescriptions
- Prescriptions for medicines not listed or not permitted for online sale
- Orders where the patient identity cannot be verified
- Requests that violate applicable pharmacy or telemedicine regulations
If a prescription is rejected, we will notify you and cancel the affected items. Any amount paid for rejected items will be refunded as per our Refund & Return Policy.
6. Record retention
Prescriptions are retained securely in accordance with applicable pharmacy and data-protection laws, including the DPDP Act, 2023, for audit, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
